The Passerby Who Stays: Group Exhibition
-
Overview
Henri Lefebvre once wrote, "all rhythms imply the relationship of time to space, a localized time, or, if one prefers, a temporalized space. Rhythm is always tied to a specific place, whether it's the heart, the fluttering of the eyelids, the motion of a street, or the tempo of a waltz." This exhibition delves into the concepts of slowness, rhythm, and temporality, particularly within contemporary urban life. The artists featured in the show draw their inspiration from fleeting moments in everyday life, exploring the boundaries of spatiality and reflecting on their interactions with their surroundings through multimedia and poetic practices. Amid the countless encounters and departures happening every second, we examine the rhythms of each moment, capture the temporal interactions, and contextualize them within the broader spectrum of space and time. Particularly when standing within the hustle and bustle where poetry and subtlety seem to have faded, we feel a keen desire to pause and ponder: should I stop, or where should I go next?
